Who We Are

In 1977 Metal Masters was founded out of an appreciation for the craftsmanship of old, and a desire to preserve the beauty and quality of passionately made objects. Over the last 45-plus years, our commitment to this endeavor has only grown. But our internal drive to deliver quality and perfection has remained the same.

Jim Sherron, the owner and founder of Metal Masters, was born into a family with a long history in construction and architecture. Jim started his career by learning these trades from his father, James Sherron Sr. In his mid 20's he was well on the way to a successful construction and real estate development career, until one project called for the demolition of a circa 1800s orchard farm house. Given his intrigue in history and ability to restore the house, he found the undertaking objectionable. Motivated to find a more fulfilling and suitable path, Jim began apprenticing for a metal craftsman in the Philadelphia area.

In the decades that followed, antique restoration would indeed provide the historical insight Jim had envisioned, restoring a gamut of intriguing pieces. Each piece resonating the intention of its original maker as well as the story of purpose it served. Some memorable restoration projects include: 16th century bronze lamps, Roman warrior helmets, 17th century andirons, a DC3 aluminum plane, massive empire-era bank vault doors, a Super Bowl trophy, and a 50 arm early-French gold leafed crystal chandelier.

Today, Metal Master’s clientele and skill-set continues to grow and broaden. While continuing to restore the old, Metal Masters brings the same passion into the creation of art and quality-made metal objects. You will not find another business in the world with the same level of experience, knowledge, ability, and focus on quality.
